SQL Server Developer at Columbia

Job Description

DP Professionals is seeking a SQL Server Developer for a contract-to-hire position in Columbia, SC.
 

The SQL Server Developer will be working on many different projects at one time. Ongoing projects involve:

• Building integration between applications
• Development of data integration packages
• Building reports from enterprise warehouse
• Developing process automation, which may include new .Net application builds
• Implementing software upgrades and patches

The support aspect of the SQL Server Developer includes:

• Ongoing administration, installation and configuration of upgrades and patch releases
• Resolving issues with performance and integration with other systems
• Nightly processing of reports

The SQL Server Developer will be working in an environment that includes such third party applications as:

• Hyperion
• iSynergy
• Lawson
• Axios Assyst
• QRM

The SQL Server Developer should be analytical and cooperative and must be prepared to formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop, modify, integrate and administer information systems.

Job Description:

• Design, code, test, debug document and maintain systems programs.
• Design and develop data integration modules, install and administer 3rd party applications and create custom reports.
• Meeting with business analysts and fellow team members who support banking applications to facilitate all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Meeting with IT teams such as Infrastructure, DBAs and Networking to ensure applications and programs meet the highest levels of performance and availability.
• Providing on-call support at night and on weekends as needed.

This is a 6-month contract that can convert to a direct hire position.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, related field or equivalent work experience.

Required Skills:

• Must be able to effectively manage competing demands, present complex technical concepts in simple terms and troubleshoot problems with a minimal amount of data to develop solutions that support third party applications. 
• Very proficient with SSIS or equivalent industry leading data integration tools
• Very proficient with T-SQL writing views and stored procedures
• Proficient with C#
• Proficient with SSRS and Crystal Reports

• You must be able to work well independently and as part of a team, make sound decisions and be flexible in your work style. 
• You must also have effective group presentations and communication skills.
• Strong sense of task ownership, is dedicated to quality, knows when to escalate issues to management and takes pride in supporting business users to ensure that applications run successfully.
