Aircraft Assembler at Charleston

Job Description

Volts client, a leading aircraft manufacturer has a high demand for aircraft assemblers. We are seeking experienced assemblers to assist in manufacturing efforts over a 6 month period of extraordinarily high volume production.Duties will include but not limited to:Install, fit, fasten, align, adjust and perform the necessary pre-installation assembly work to accomplish the installation of system components requiring the use of production and engineering prints to determine exact locationsInstall cables and wire bundles, fit, fasten, align, adjust and perform the necessary pre-installation assembly work to accomplish the installation of wire provisions, wire bundles and harnesses, power feeders, signal data lines, and fiber optic harnesses requiring the use of production and engineering prints to determine exact locations.Install cables and wire bundles when similar in complexity and incidental but necessary to the expeditious accomplishment of work assignment.Perform any repairs, rework, functional checks and the incorporation of authorized changesRemove and/or replace installed components and any related parts. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering dispositions and instructionsVolt is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).

Job Requirements

Must have firm understanding and knowledge of basic computer systems and programs.Coordinate pertinent information with employees on other shifts. Ability to work any shift (days, evenings and (midnights), stand for long periods of time, and work in elevated and/or confined spaces as required.Frequent overhead work may be required.Frequent overtime may be required.Must be able to work any shift required and may be asked to change shifts with limited notice.Teammates must have the ability to perform the following physical requirements:Pass visual acuity and color perception testsRead, write, and comprehend the English languageUse personal protective equipment for face/eyes and ears as requiredHandle, use, and dispose of hazardous materialObtain & maintain personal certifications as required to support job responsibilitiesOccasional (1 to 3 hrs) finger manipulationOn occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbsOccasional lifting of 21-35 pounds o Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs)Frequent walking on flat surfaces o Frequent standing flat or uneven surfacesFrequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfacesOccasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or standsRotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controlsOccasional contact with metals o Exposure to plastics and solvents to atmospheric conditions and frequent exposure to noiseSuccessful completion of an assessment and or 3 week training class is a requirement for this position.
