Scope:

The Operator is primarily responsible for operating production and packaging equipment, loading and unloading trucks, cycle counting material, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The position will involve some weekend and holiday coverage as necessary. The position may involve shift work as production schedules require. The Operator is expected to effectively communicate with Engineering, Maintenance, and QA personnel.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Operating production and packaging equipment in a fertilizer coating operation
• Loading raw materials
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Cycle counting materials
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Providing direction and oversight to Temporary Laborers
• Logging and entering of results in computerized production management systems
• Maintain high level of safety and quality focus

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment. Experience in chemical industry is a plus.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to solve problems
• Basic math skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and drive a forklift
• Demonstrated computer proficiency
