Trauma Speech Therapist - FT at Myrtle Beach

Job Description

The Speech Therapist functions as a member of the healthcare team. The purpose is to provide prescribed speech therapy programs in the hospital in accordance with national standards and administrative policies of the hospital. The goal is to enable patients with speech and language disorders, whether it is receptive or expressive, to communicate as effectively and clearly as possible, and to assist the physician with determining appropriate dietary feeding levels for patients with dysphagia and progress the level through the use of therapeutic techniques as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

Licensure: Must obtain andretain state licensure, competence in speech pathologyis required or CFY, BLS - Healthcare Provider.

Education: Must hold M.S. or a M.A. in Speech Pathology

Experience: Experience in a hospital-based department is desirable, but not required.

Must perform inaccordance with delineated job responsibilities & satisfactorily complete a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilites.

Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of patients/ external& internal customers.

Experience in hospital setting preferred.
