Job Description
- Be the unbiased voice of the Consumer for the brand and be a sought after resource for all functions of the organization.
- Lead the strengthening and evolution of the consumer insights team and function within the organization; educating the system on the use of insights and guiding the application of those insights through all levels.
- Guide marketing and brand leadership in prioritization of efforts and initiatives based on insights-led identification of profitable opportunities.
- Oversee multiple consumer insights and strategic marketing projects to meet critical timelines, including questionnaire design, vendor management and writing analyses of marketing/consumer insights data and consumer feedback.
- Provide a strategic perspective on new business opportunities grounded in research and insights.
- Manage vendor partners to develop and consistently share value-added output that impacts critical business decisions (e.g. brand tracker, CREST, customer experience data, ad research)
- Act as primary day-to-day partner with product marketing to support and be fully integrated into test market and national windows, helping proactively shape product offerings, marketing communications with the consumer voice, as well as respond to specific insights needs.
- Proactively lead identification of consumer and customer research opportunities and needs (strategic and tactical), working then to determine the most appropriate methodology to meet these needs.
- Design market research methods and seek to actively improve research methods. Identify and develop data collection sources and monitor and improve quality of data sources. Ensure high quality deliverables are met in a timely manner.
- Strengthen and utilize supplier/vendor relationship to leverage resources and tools offered to meet needs and extend impact of insights team.
- Develop strong partnership with agency resources, maximizing and aligning resources as extension of internal team
- Effectively communicate findings from research to brand leadership via presentations, reports, etc.
- Use research findings to provide leadership to marketing, culinary, operations, development and other functions in the development of strategic marketing and product development plans.
- Manage multiple suppliers towards the accomplishment of meaningful and timely results within budget.

Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in relevant discipline such as Marketing, Marketing Research, Business Administration, Psychology or Sociology; Masters level degree preferred.
- 6-8 years related experience in a corporate or agency environment. 5 years of experience with both qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Experience in designing consumer research with emphasis on marketing and/or product development. Solid experience with syndicated data and analysis, using data to make actionable business decisions and recommendations. Restaurant and/or retail industry experience a strong plus.
- Should have familiarity with experimental design, statistics, and statistical software packages.
- Demonstrate leadership, work collaboratively with a team, provide strategic insight, and influence management.

- Demonstrated ability to build support and advocacy for consumer insights within an organization (or to have helped transform an organization to become consumer insights driven).
- Proven ability to objectively interpret research, extracting insights, linking to strategies, and communicating in a motivating way.
- Strong detail orientation, balanced with ability to see and articulate bigger strategic vision.
- Experience with developing presentations and other tools to consistently bring the “customer to life" within an organization.
- Able to think strategically, turn information into effective strategies and drive results.
- Able to create studies from start-to-finish, including identification of objectives, development of questionnaire, vendor oversight, actionable analysis and presentation of findings to various levels.
- Highly effective storyteller - ability to integrate disparate sources of information and bring the information to life as clear, unbiased actionable insights.
- Strong business perspective beyond traditional Consumer Insights boundaries .
- Must have proven success turning data and insights into strategic recommendations that generate business growth.
- Strong interpersonal and very strong influencing skills: build cooperative & productive relationships with internal business partners and external vendors with ability to influence across the organization at multiple levels.
- Adaptable; flexible and agile to tackle additional consumer insights projects as needed, start-to-finish.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work proactively and independently.

- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
