Masonite is continually creating new and innovative products that will make any home more beautiful, more valuable and more enjoyable.The Production Supervisor is responsible for a specific manufacturing department or designated work area in the manufacturing plant to meet safety, production, quality, and service delivery goals. The Production Supervisor will manage their department through effective utilization of resources. Responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations through coordination, and value based leadership of manufacturing processes, organization and lean processes. Responsibilities:
Lead the personnel in a manufacturing or other specific department.Ensure the safety of all personnel through constant and consistent management of workplace conditions and employee behaviors.Facilitate a focus on continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing principles and quality control practices.Prepare and review daily delivery, quality, and direct labor efficiency metrics with Production Supervisors and Management team (metrics walk) to identify opportunities for improvement.Monitor the daily manufacturing operation of people, tools, machinery and systems.Responsible for meeting quality requirements and maintaining quality standards for your specific area of responsibility.Set production line staffing to ensure maximum efficiency.Ensure staff complies with all approved manufacturing practices and Masonite standard operating procedures.Facilitate the smooth transition of employees on a manufacturing line. Train and cross-train production operators in all functions and work-cells of the production line.Responsible for all process, equipment, employee safety, quality, and housekeeping aspects for the assigned department.Provides ongoing training and coaching in individual and group settings.Update metrics boards daily on production line.Inspect product for defects and work closely with production operators and quality to identify root-causes and corrective actions to maintain Masonite quality standards.Participates in the continuous improvements process, Lean Sigma, Kaizen events and other manufacturing initiatives to achieve business goals.Identify and develop improvements necessary to increase process efficiency.Participate in daily production meetings as required by management.Performs miscellaneous related duties and carries out special projects as assigned.Responsible for successful training, implementation, and validation of all required SOPs, LOTO, Forklift certification.Provide feedback to Quality and Production Management regarding SOP/Procedure changes.Validate and log employee training in Cross Training Matrix.Maximize efficiency by conducting effective shift meetings.Become the Subject Matter Expert in home department.Develop successor for each position including Production Supervisor.Respond quickly to production line issues by solving minor problems and requesting assistance for problems beyond their expertise.Collaborate with Supervisors to Approve/Reject Vacations, Time Off, etc.Job Requirements
Required:
Bachelors Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or OperationsMust have established experience in Production environments, including supervisory responsitilities.A minimum of 5-7 years experience of related experience in Manufacturing Management is preferred.Experience, knowledge or trained in Six Sigma Lean Methodologies manufacturing.Six Sigma Lean GB certification highly desired or ability to obtain within 12 months.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to create and drive change and effectively communicate throughout the organization.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teamsMust be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.Excellent organizational skills, leadership qualities, computer literacy, and ability to supervise are essential for the candidate to perform successfully in this positio.Good oral and written communication skills are necessary.Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & MS Project.Works with integrity and respect displaying a high degree of tact and diplomacy.Must be familiar with various measuring devices and analyzing information.Good understanding of HR and Financial acumen is highly desired.Country: USA,
