We have just the opportunity for you! Volt is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to work onsite with our client in a contingent position expected to last approximately one year. This position is located in Athens, GA. Duties will include:Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes.Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.Be responsible for developing new suppliers and managing quality of the existing products.Interact with all levels within the organization as well as the supplier.Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience5+ years of engineering experience2+ years of experience developing suppliers and managing qualityAbility to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computationsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reportsExperience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, to include Microsoft OfficeAbility to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers and suppliersDemonstrated problem solving skillsAbility to travel up to 25%Knowledge of project management toolsSix Sigma Green Belt certification preferredExperience with tool and fixture designAbility to relocate to Athens, GAVolt is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Location: Greenwood, SC
