We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for our state-of-the-art tissue manufacturing plant located in Anderson, SC. The position will be responsible for acting as the liaison between leadership and employees, planning, organizing, and leading the operations of the Human Resources Department, developing and implementing policies, programs, and procedures regarding Human Resources planning, recruitment, and compensation and benefits planning and administration, and building and maintaining strong communications and an open and trusting relationship with team members to promote optimal business performance.
Primary responsibilities include:
- -Being responsible and accountable for all Human Resources functions, including, but not limited to staffing, employee relations, training and pay for skills, and leadership support and development.
- -Providing direction, supervision, and development to all direct reports (three HR Generalists), and ensuring that all HR staff members receive clear direction, feedback, and development.
- -Being responsible for the recruitment process for all hourly and salaried openings. Ensuring the most qualified candidates are selected.
- -Ensuring proper onboarding for all new team members, including all paperwork, informing new hires of company benefits, and reviewing the applicable employee policies and procedures.
- -Overseeing the New Employee Orientation Process and continually refining and improving the process.
- -Overseeing administration of all benefits programs.
- -Ensuring and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations and employment practices.
- -Assisting in the interpretation of company policies and procedures. Proactively ensuring that company policies are administered in a fair and equitable manner.
- -Developing, reviewing, and updating facility policies and procedures as needed.
- -Partnering with operations and training management, developing, administering and conducting training and development programs.
- -Monitoring the salary administration and performance appraisal process, ensuring timely adherence and review for appropriateness and completeness.
- -Providing positive employee relations to include complaint investigations, counseling, and positive employee relations training (union-free).
- -Coaching, counseling, and mentoring site leadership and employees.
- -Partnering with leadership to design and implement effective communications and recognition programs.
- -Managing the de-boarding process including resignations, terminations, and business reductions.
- -With site leadership, supporting safety initiatives including monthly safety committee meetings, audits, accident investigations, workers compensation benefits, and training.
- -With operations management, developing and tracking the succession planning/leadership review process.
- -Participating in the development and implementation of departmental goals.
- --Participating in the development, interpretation, and implementation of the Affirmative Action Plan.
- Representing First Quality in unemployment compensation and workers compensation hearings.
- -Providing leadership and support for all company initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- -Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration.
- -Master’s Degree in HR, OD, or other related degree desired.
- -HR management experience with 5+ years of successful expertise preferably in a manufacturing and/or distribution center. Experience with Lean and/or High Performance Work Teams desired.
- -SPHR certification preferred, but not required.
- -Must possess maturity, strong business ethics, professionalism, leadership skills, communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
