Horsehead Holding Corp. Electrical Maintenance Supervisor Mooresboro, NC

 

 

The primary purpose of Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is to provide direct supervision to electrical repairmen in such a manner that the plant runs safely and at high efficiency The work included is electrical maintenance and construction, emergency repairs, instrumentation calibration, motor maintenance, and heating-ventilating-air conditioning maintenance.

 

Specific duties and responsibilities:

 

• Supervision of electricians in all functions of their job--assign responsibilities, assess results and maintain accountability
• Promote and enforce compliance with all safety rules and environmental regulations.
• Schedule and coordinate electrical resources to provide 24/7/365 support for plant operations
• Provide leadership for maintenance team that is an integral part of day to day plant operations.
• Develop and mentor an effective staff of electrical maintenance associates.  Assess skills and develop as necessary to meet plant operational and compliance needs
• Plan and execute major shut down and repair projects
• Maintain Work Order system to assign and prioritize duties for electricians and analyze data for the purposes of reducing downtime, identifying root cause, implementing irreversible corrective actions and making continuous improvement
• Ability to analyze and solve technical problems quickly and effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings for the purpose of troubleshooting.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  Computer competency is a required.
• Ability to finish work assignments completely and on time.
• Must be able to climb stairs/ladders and carry equipment in accessing ALL areas of the plant while wearing the required PPE.
• Experience in developing PM systems and Standard Practice Instructions is desired. 
• Experience understanding PLC/DSC code for troubleshooting equipment.
• Experience with Siemens DCS a plus.

 

Job Requirements

 

• BS or Associates in Electrical Engineering Technology and 5 years relevant industrial supervisor experience with the following knowledge and skill required in the following categories:
• Theoretical and practical knowledge and skill in the fields of electronics, electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, heating-ventilating-air conditioning, and industrial management.
• In-depth knowledge of the total plant power generation and distribution system.
• In-depth knowledge of all the plant process control system.
• Supervisory leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the various plant safety hazards and safe working practices.
