Tax Manager at Columbia

Job Description

One of our clients, a large public accounting firm, is searching for a Tax Manager to join their office in Columbia, SC. This is a great opportunity to join a firm that promotes work/life balance while offering great growth opportunity and work/life balance.

 

Responsibilities:

• Research complex tax issues and perform technical review of assigned tax returns

 

• Cultivate excellent client relationships; Identify client issues with a solutions-based approach

 

• Prepare complex business returns

 

• Perform administrative tasks including billing, delegating/managing tax and research assignments, and scheduling smooth system flow of tax returns

 

• Ensure staff development by maintaining awareness of staff’s qualifications, reviewing assignments for suitability, providing constructive performance feedback, conducting and facilitating both internal and external training

 

• Recruit both new and experienced talent

Job Requirements

• 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree in Tax preferred

• 4+ years recent public accounting firm experience including managing multiple tax accounting projects and client engagements, directing and scheduling staff and managing work flow. Additional industry experience a plus.

• Significant experience working with all types of entity taxes, including income, property, and sales and use

• CPA certification
