Job Description
SUMMARY:The HR Generalist is responsible for staffing management including compliance; assists with training and development, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and employee communications as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staffing Management
- Responsible for applicant tracking to include screening/routing resumes, fielding calls, etc.
- Conducts preliminary interviews (in-person or via phone) for all exempt and non-exempt personnel
- Processes all new hires and terminations
- Sources passive job seekers through various avenues to include database and website searches as needed
- Builds relationships with local colleges and participates in career fairs
- Coordinates and schedules interviews
- Assists with final hiring decisions and makes offers of employment
- Manages pre-screening efforts to include pre-employment drug screens, background checks and employment verifications
- Manages the Hargray Intern Program & Heroes At Hargray Program
- Assists in the administration and monitoring of the performance review program
- Partners with management to communicate Company policies, programs, and standards
- Coordinates and tracks company use of temporary and contract labor; assists with temporary labor requests
Compliance
- Responsible for all employee record keeping and retention; conducts audits as necessary
- Assists with EEO-1 reporting annually
- Assists with coordinating regulatory audits including ICE, EEOC and DOL
- Assists with workers compensation claims including reporting requirements
Training
- Assists with the coordination of training for new and existing employees, both internal, external and on-line, and where appropriate, conducts training programs
- Assists with the development of team building and communications between departments, including on-job-training and on-job-orientation and similar programs
- Assists with coordinating logistical aspects of training events as requested
Employee Relations
- Assists in the administration and monitoring of compensation and benefits programs
- Participates in employee relations events
- Maintains employee and department information on the Heartbeat
- Assists in the creation and analysis of reports, decisions, and results of Company and department in relation to established goals
Administrative
- Data entry
- Filing
- Reporting

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3+ years previous experience
- Must be able to work with confidential information and maintain utmost discretion
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Self-starter who requires little direction; able to anticipate needs of others
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, previous experience working with ADP products preferred.
