SUMMARY:
The Global Manager, AML Compliance is responsible for managing and leading the AML team by identifying and reporting emerging and evolving money laundering, terrorist financing and financial crime threats, and improving the overall process, including team efficiency and consistency, to build a stronger defense. Additionally, the Manager will be responsible for overseeing Blackbauds SAR process, as well as compliance with all AML/CIP legal and regulatory responsibilities. Finally, the Manager will work closely with the Treasury, Risk, Payment Services and Legal teams interfacing with the companys payment processing partners and federal regulatory agencies as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively lead and develop a team of BSA/AML/OFAC specialists, both on-shore and off-shore
- Leverage expertise on all BSA/AML/OFAC controls, including front-end systems, applications, data sources, and back end controls
- Proactively identify emerging trends in the AML/BSA space and implement solutions for eliminating related risks
- Review/Enhance design of AML training and ensure compliance with training requirements
- Use expertise and analysis to make recommendations on evolving money laundering trends, terrorist financing and other financial crimes and reputational risks to C-level management
- Work with appropriate internal & external stakeholders to develop and implement related process and control changes. These stakeholders will include our processing banks, IT, Customer Care, and Treasury, Payment Services Operations, as well as others.
- Utilize data & analytical skills to follow leads to of suspicious activity and uncover new trends in fraudulent, money laundering and possible terrorist financing behavior.
- Help devise and analyze results of existing transaction monitoring reports where further investigation is warranted, and take required action with cardholders based on analysis of activity. Find ways to streamline, or automate such processes wherever possible.
- Complete and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) with our processing partners. Draft and maintain a log of SAR filings and analysis of reports, and any other mandated BSA/AML/OFAC-related recordkeeping and reporting.
- Have familiarity both with Patriot Act Section 314a and 314b information sharing processes, as well as with Patriot Act Section 326 CIP and CDD requirements
- Identify, Evaluate and monitor credit risks
- Perform special projects and or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of BSA/AML/OFAC Experience in the financial services arena, with a minimum of 3 years management experience
- Familiar with designing risk assessment evaluation tools and related controls to minimize identified risks
- Experience in credit card merchant services industry strongly desired
Credit analysis experience preferred- Bachelors Degree
- CAMS certification
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of documentation requirements for BSA/AML/OFAC controls and processes
- Familiarity with BSA/AML/OFAC training program design and implementation
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and compliance specialists
- Prior experience working with large data sets and designing AML transaction monitoring algorithms
- Outstanding communication skills, with a genuine desire to socialize ideas and an ability to know your audience and tailor your message accordingly.
- Must be a self-starter, able to formalize and implement global policies.
- Experience with MS Office, system design and databases.
