Position Summary:
The Sr. HR Generalist is a business partner with assigned client groups, typically between 200-500 employees that span multiple functions and/or markets, to create workable solutions that influence and sustain high levels of employee engagement and productivity to meet business goals. Operating in a highly matrixed environment. The Sr. Generalist, through building a strong understanding of the business and collaborating with COEs will utilize available systems, human capital analyses, business analytics and key measures to consult with client group leaders on risk mitigation strategies, performance coaching and instituting change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to clients on the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. Focus on service delivery depending upon client group.
- Assist with the adherence to the company-wide process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, superior workforce development, key employee retention, organization design, and change management.
- Partner closely with client group people leaders and COE partners to ensure the consistent and fair resolution of employee relations issues as well as all other programs, training, compensation, resources and benefits are administered fairly and consistently.
- Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers in an effort to better help assigned client groups meet their business needs.
- Participate in team meetings within respective client groups to proactively develop solutions to support business strategy and to establish and maintain productive internal and external working relationships.
- Interprets and educates client group on HR policies. Provide employee counseling on such policies as necessary. Reviews and evaluates disciplinary actions to include written warnings, suspensions and dismissals, etc. to ensure consistent application of company policies, contract agreement, federal and state laws.
- Thoroughly investigates and documents employee concerns, employee relations and performance management issues utilizing a consistent set of tools and methodologies to advise department people leaders on appropriate corrective actions.
- Partners with regional HR functional teams including Leadership and Development, Talent Acquisition, Employee Services and Safety to efficiently implement, administer and deliver region-wide Human Resource programs, processes, projects and change management objectives.
- Represents the organization on projects and may perform in project leadership role and/or may guide the activities of subordinate level personnel.
- Supports company initiatives and regional Human Resources strategy.
- Promotes client group activities around the companys Mission & Values and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree, preferably in Human Resource Management or equivalent required. SHRM certification preferred (PHR, SPHR).
- Minimum of 7 years of human resources generalist experience with strong emphasis on employee relations, organizational development and change management.
- Minimum of 5 years of human resources business partner experience.
- Proven experience in conducting internal investigations and recommending appropriate course of action/resolution required.
- Telecommunication, cable or service industry experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation/platform skills.
- Experience partnering with all levels of staff and management in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and have demonstrated project management skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must have demonstrated proficiency with common office tools such as MS Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Previous experience with relevant HRMS technology platforms (e.g. PeopleSoft HRMS, Cornerstone, etc.) preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to travel to other locations within assigned market as required.
