OEM seeking Quality Engineer

Our automotive manufacturing client is seeking a Quality Engineer to facilitate OE Customer issues and provide quality systems & programs throughout the corporate structure to utilize resources committed for continuous improvement efforts.  Responsibilities include making recommendations of quality resolution efforts to maintain process flow and quality standards at minimum cost and ensure that data is collected and records are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:  Candidates in this positions will support all company policies, procedures and programs related to personnel, quality, safety and environmental issues; support the APQP process; take a leadership role in product management of new programs; initiate cost savings review projects to eliminate unnecessary waste in process and design; investigate special project/assignments to assist in the development of solutions to quality problem areas; provide arbitration, guidance, direction and training to support personnel in various departments; ensure customer satisfaction by responding to needs and following up on quality problems and/or statistical controls; communicate with customers through Sales and Engineering and the Quality Engineering Manager and Plant Manager; facility product compliance; monitor and identify supplier, internal and external concerns; administer quality assessments for supplier and internal audits. 

Job Requirements

Additional Information:  Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or equivalent in education and experience; have 3-5 years of experience in controlling quality, vendor relations, customer requirements, processes and product capabilities; have knowledge of and previous experience working with TS 6949 and ISO 9001; be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects, work priorities and planning and task delegations, have strong analytical and problem solving skills, use logic and appropriate methods to solve problems utilizing tools such as 5 Why, fishbone diagrams and is/is not diagrams.
