Banbury Operator - Rubber Molding at Sumter

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Set-up mixer and auxiliaries as required for a specific mix or formulation using mechanical / computer controls.

2. Inspect mixer to make sure all services are operating, i.e. lubricator, cooling water, dust collector, air supply and process oil. Collect deficiencies and report any breakdown to Production Mechanic or Manufacturing Technician.

3. Follow established requirements for loading of rubber and various minor ingredients into the Banbury mixer. Perform miscellaneous duties as required in the compounding process.

4. Monitor operation of automatic loading, mixing and discharge system for any miscellaneous loads of ingredients. Record necessary data in operating log provided.

5. Maintain clean organized work area using materials in order required and disposing of waste and trash to assigned areas.

6. Maintain cleanliness of all equipment and work area paying particular attention to dust, oil and rubber on floor.

7. Operate hand and gas/electrical trucks to move and relocate materials as necessary.

8. Maintain daily machine downtime log.

9. Make changeovers and new set-up as required per established production schedule sequence and perform assigned Preventative Maintenance procedures as instructed.

10. Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements.

11. Advise Banbury crew and laboratory personnel of changes in compound scheduling.

Job Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or GED. Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Requires completion of the following WorkKeys levels prior to hire date Applied Math-4; Applied Technology - 3; Locating Information-4; Observation-4; Teamwork-4.
