Primary Area of Responsibility
Attend pre-work conferences Conduct readiness reviews for major work evolutions. Readiness reviews and corrective actions shall be submitted to Contractor for acceptance prior to the start of the work evolution. Conduct Safety, Health & Environmental new-hire, supervisory safety training and other specialty training as required. Provide oversight to supervision who will conduct pre-job briefs. Maintain documentation related to training, qualifications, and recordkeeping. Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings for security officers on site. Implement a behavioral observation program for the reduction of negative human performance events. Submit weekly safety and health inspection reports of the construction site as it relates to Security Officers. Record hazards identified and actions taken. The weekly inspection report shall be provided to the Project Manager. Perform site accident and incident investigations associated with Security and fully cooperate with any other accident or incident investigations which may be required. Maintain safety and health statistical information, and provide weekly and monthly reports to Project Manager. Reports shall include leading and lagging indicators. Examples of leading and lagging indicators include: behavioral field observations, audit results, training conducted, employee hours worked, the number of first aid and doctor cases, the number of recordable injuries and illnesses, the number of restricted and lost workday cases as defined by OSHA, etc. These reports shall include statistical information related to all Security activities. Additionally, these reports shall present safety performance of leading and lagging indicators by Lieutenant (shift leader). Provide Contractor with immediate notification of any regulatory inspection and a copy of all resulting citations or notice of deficiencies.12. Routinely visits all shifts for scheduled and unscheduled site inspections.

The above limited job description indicates that the Safety Officer has many and varied duties. In performing the required tasks, the Safety Officer must continually maintain a positive attitude to effectively and efficiently promote a safety culture for the officers, contractors, and site visitors.
Job Requirements
Must have a valid SC drivers license, and be licensable as a SC Unarmed Security Officer - US Security Associates will train you.
Must possess relevant OSHA training for construction, and have at least two years experience in a site safety supervisory role.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
