This position is located in Occupational Medicine, Directorate for Public Health, Naval Hospital Beaufort in Beaufort, South Carolina. The position requires travel to the Tir-Command area to include Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

· Develop, implement, and manage the Occupational Medicine Program for the command, as well as provide expert consultation and recommendations to various commands, managers and supervisors in the Tri-Command region.
· Recognize the more insidious health effects which may be produced by acute or chronic exposures to toxic chemicals or harmful physical agents and make recommendations for treatment modalities.
· Direct Occupational Medicine and supervise subordinates performing work.
· Provide overall policy formulation, planning, direction, coordination, and supervision of the Occupational Medicine Program for Naval Hospital Beaufort.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Applicants who wish to qualify for positions at higher grade levels must meet additional requirements under specialized experience.
A degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed AND Active/Current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
POSITIVE EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: This position has a Positive Education Requirement. In order to verify that you meet the positive education qualifications for this position, you should submit a complete copy of their transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (Course title, semester/quarter hours and grade). Failure to submit this information may result in an ineligible rating. You may submit your transcripts or list of college courses through the "Application Manager" or by fax. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position has a selective placement factor needed in order to qualify. The actual Selective Placement Factor is certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner. Failure to possess this factor WILL result in an ineligible rating. Possession of the factor must be verifiable by submitting a copy of the board certification with you application.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience developing policy and program objectives and providing consultative services to management and technical personnel regarding occupational medicine.
- Experience developing and implementing occupational and safety programs.
- Experience assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with occupational medicine related illnesses.
- Experience implementing toxicology, industrial hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Experience presenting recommended courses of action, written and orally, to the highest level management officials.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A favorable ANACI (Access National Agency Check and Inquiries) background investigation is required for noncritical sensitive positions with access to network systems.

Required to use protective clothing or gear while visiting hazardous worksites.
