The Support Manager position is an integral one to hold within MAA. This position is responsible for the accounting or bookkeeping function of the community. With over 160+ MAA communities, it is important for each one to have a trusted member of the property team filling this role.

This integral position generally serves as the second ranking MAA associate working on the property and works under the supervision of the Community Leader. Integrity is a must, as this role is responsible for the operations of the property in the Community Leaders absence. The Support Manager job duties are primarily those of an accounting and collections nature. Additional responsibilities would be collecting rental and other community income from residents, recording the income in the MRI system that transmits to the corporate office and performing recently vacated apartment home inspections.

MAA provides all newly hired Support Managers with training at the corporate offices to ensure every opportunity for success.


All MAA associates must successfully clear a background investigation to include but may not be limited to: criminal background check, pre-employment drug screening and an employment verification process. Weekend and after hours work may be required.

Job Requirements


  • Skilled in basic bookkeeping and accounting practices.
  • Knowledge of property management business procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understanding resident ledgers.
  • Computer skills and software knowledge preferably MRI.

Experience Required

  • High School Diploma.
  • One year experience in customer service with significant bookkeeping and or financial responsibility OR 1 year industry experience such as; leasing, bookkeeping etc.
  • Functional knowledge of common computer application programs and MRI.
