Production Associate, Panelboard Assembly 1st Shift at Sumter

Job Description

This position requires the ability to read and comprehend parts drawings, M.I. routings, assembly Bill of Materials, Pick Sheets, travel documents, kitting reports, and related materials documentation.

Knowledge of processes and procedures related to steel and bus fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control is preferred.

Broad range of knowledge in materials planning, scheduling, receiving, shipping, and tracking systems is desired.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Utilize computer and perform cycle counts of components. Analyze cycle count information to determine root cause and corrective action. Resolve all errors by research and auditing of transactions.

Work on projects and special assignments as required. Initiative to be a self starter and accomplish all task.

Receive, document, store, stage and issue all job related material to satisfy production requirements.

Support assembly / fabrication requirements, as necessary. Overtime is sometimes needed in order to accomplish all required task.

Produce kitting reports, SWBD Status Reports, Setup Schedules to identify units and/or material for staging and shipment. Select, prepare & update paperwork and schedules both on paper and computer.

Package, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging and to create a safe work environment.

Apply labels, stickers, stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping.
Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
Computer skills required include Excel, , Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics, & Outlook

Exhibit initiative & teamwork skills to continually improve the processes

Job Requirements

*High School Diploma or GED required.

*Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.

*Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

*Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation. Incumbent must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.

*No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate are of Sumter county (50 Miles) will be considered for this position.
