Mod Center Scheduler/Planner at Spartanburg

Job Description

This position is responsible for establishing a master production schedule through the use of excel, Mentor and Vista tools to coordinate the demand of customer orders. This coordination will require matching and scheduling this demand in concert with the work cell capacity and the product demand. Further, this position will be required to establish parts shortages, identify by order and plant responsible for shipping the item to Mod Center, and expediting the support plants if necessary to maintain delivery integrity, and schedules. This function will monitor daily production output to help ensure work is progressing, report to the first level progress and or jobs in jeopardy of missing the established schedule.

This position will work in harmony with the MOD Center Manager, and the Lead for this area to further provide guidance to successful customer deliveries. The function will also be responsible for the development of communications reports, analysis processes which will further assist in the identification of improved information processes and information

A. Monitors and matches the customer order demand to the available capacity of the required work stations needed to complete the work on time.

B. Balances current and future requirements with manufacturing capability in order to execute the production plan to meet customer requirements and minimize costs. Works with the assembly floor to issue the correct work orders in alignment with the customer requirements.

C. Works with and expedite supplying plants to procure components needed to assemble customer orders, and to optimize revenues (Lead weekly calls with supplying plants on material needs and due dates).

D. Establishes the capacity by work cell in concert with next level management to determine correct manning and capacity available.

E. Works with management of the MOD Center to properly manage the engineering change process in order to minimize impact on production, inventory and customer requirements.

F. Supports plant cost reduction programs in order to achieve overall objectives.
Prepares reports which define product line, suffix performance rates, delivery information in order to monitor progress and performance in the support of the Mod Center.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, or Materials Management

Minimum of 3 years experience in Materials Management, including scheduling and planning

Authorized to work in US without company sponsorship

Position Criteria:

Knowledge and application of excel data base

Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma processes

Working knowledge of materials management system

Strong computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Materials Management in a Manufacturing environment
