Parking Enforcement Officer

(Part-time Position )

Works under general supervision and is responsible for routine parking enforcement functions, such as issuing standard citations and maintaining equipment. An incumbent is expected to become increasingly knowledgeable of state and city laws, ordinances, procedures and practices pertaining to vehicles, parking and to carry out assignments with increasing autonomy and accountability.

Work involves responsibility for the direction of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and general enformcement of laws and ordinance pertaining to parking in a designated area: consists of routine patrol and traffic regulation duties which may be performed in patrol vehicles or on foot; prefer some knowledge of method approved principles, practices and procedures for police work; some knowledge of State Laws and City Ordinances; graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; valid S.C. Drivers license required.

Scheduled work hours are 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday however, hours may vary. Minimum pay $11 /hr.
