Customer Service Representative- Manufacturing at Spartanburg

Job Description

Hofmann Services is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representitive with a background in manufacturing and Fiberglass. This is a full time permanent placement with our client.

The position of Customer Service will be the key contact for the customer for post-quote activities in processing sales, expediting and technical support. This position will represent the voice of the customer, manage customer expectations and add value to the sales process. Through advanced internal product knowledge this position will support and develop internal policies, procedures and product development. 



Responsibilities: 
  • Customers key point of contact for product information, pricing and technical support.
  • Respond to and resolve customer requests.
  • Process sales orders accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and manage order completions, service and product issues.
  • Support the Sales team as required.
  • Prepare reports and analysis as assigned or required.
  • Support internal departments on product and process improvements.
  • Prepare shipping documentation including invoices, Bills of Lading, packing slips, Customs documentation and NAFTA certificates.
  • Make freight arrangements and communicate with customers on delivery dates.
  • Prepare Courier shipments and customer mail outs.
  • Issue Return Merchandise Authorizations and follow through with returns ensuring that the products are inspected by the appropriate departments, rework is complete and/or credits are submitted for authorization
  • Coordinate RMA’s with/to suppliers and follow up on credits.
  • Prepare orders for invoicing ensuring freight charges are added and purchase orders have been correctly billed.
  • Ensure commissions are compensated to Distributors.
  • Ensure monthly commissions are invoiced to BECS Technology.
  • Prepare reports; Financial Statements, Sales performance and product analysis, Sales forecasts and special projects as assigned.
  • Attend weekly meeting with functional departments to gather feedback for product and process improvements.
  • Maintain filing of all correspondents pertaining to customer Purchase orders, requests, drawings, picking lists, Bills of Lading and invoicing.
  • Prepare weekly spreadsheet of shipment status to customers.
  • Maintain spreadsheet of Q.C documentation for future use.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements


  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with fiberglass is an asset.
