Manager, Contracts & Order Processing at Charleston

Blackbauds corporate finance group is seeking a Manager of Contracts & Order Processing that will be based out of our Charleston, SC office. This role will report to the Director of Contracts & Billing and will lead operations for the Sales Order process. We are looking for a proven leader to create and lead a best in class order processing team.


Responsibilities include:

  • Organizes and directs the contracts/order processing team to perform their duties in a timely, accurate, cost efficient and effective manner by developing an ideal workflow, including automation and standardization
  • Oversees deferred revenue processing in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Implements policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of contract, billing and revenue processing
  • Design, prepare and regularly review/analyze management reports that identify key indicators of operating performance and productivity
  • Manages and administers all SOX key controls related to the order entry, billing and revenue activation processes.
  • Lead process improvement efforts through the review of processes to streamline, redesign and automate as appropriate reducing manual efforts where possible and minimizing the possibility of errors and inefficiencies
  • Leads special projects that aide in the efficient growth of the financial operations, including system migrations and integration of acquired operations
  • Offer leadership to the team regarding the resolution of daily processing issues with customers, both internal and external
  • Monitors team and individual performance against established metrics. Directs staff to take appropriate follow-up action on errors and discrepancies
  • Trains and mentors staff and fellow team members, fosters an environment that encourages outstanding customer service and teamwork.
  • Work closely with other finance management team including the Sales Operation Managers, Operational Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller and Collections Manager on strategic initiatives
  • Ensure the teams responsibilities for month end and year end closings are completed timely


Job Requirements

Experience / Education

  • 10 years related experience
  • B.S. or B.A. Accounting Degree
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Contract, billing and/or shared services experience
  • Working knowledge of basic revenue recognition principles
  • Working knowledge of CRM and GL systems (SAP preferred)
