Systems Analyst / iSeries Platforms

Contract to Hire

Beaufort, SC

The iSeries Platforms Systems Analyst initially administers iSeries (AS/400) hardware, software, and data, maintaining reliability, availability and performance, troubleshoots and develops RPG ILE, CL and SQL based application code. The iSeries Platforms Systems Analyst will provide general IT support to assist in the daily functioning of the client and its business operations, actively building a skillset in technologies of the existing and evolving IT environment.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the IT Director, the Systems Analyst / iSeries Platforms assists with the day to day function of ERP, Warehouse Management Systems, Shipping Systems, and Retail Systems software.

Install, configure, and maintain iSeries (AS/400) environment

Troubleshoot and develop RPG ILE, CL, and SQL code, as needed

Develop data queries using the ISeries Query Tool and assist system users with developing their own data extraction queries.

Administer hardware, software, and data maintenance as required

Administer and maintain iSeries System Security as required

Maintain high availability, reliability, performance, and data integrity

Analyze, diagnose and resolve issues regarding application performance

Proactively monitor, secure, provide contingency planning

Perform necessary backup and recovery functions on the iSeries

Provide general IT support, including retail software, desktop, server, network, and database support

Working with existing IT Staff, actively develops skillset to be a valuable contributor in the existing and evolving IT environment.

Knowledge/Experience:

BS or equivalent degree or work experience (ideally 7 to 9 years of experience with iSeries platforms)

Advanced skills/proficiency in IBM i-series environment, AS/400 administration, RPG ILE, CL, and SQL programming, hardware, software, communications, and IBM DB2 database administration

Experience with a vendor provided ERP platform including Financial Applications, Order Management, Product Data Management, Inventory Management, Sales Reporting, Warehouse Management Systems, and Shipping Systems

Advanced understanding of best practices and procedures for development and administration of the iSeries platform
