GIS Analyst

Our Client based in Columbia, SC is looking for a GIS Analyst to join their team for a 6 month contract opportunity.

GIS Analyst Job Details

Our client desires a GIS Analyst positions level 3 to assist in various on-going projects. Some of these projects include the Local Agency data Collection, creation of new city maps, revision of GIS layers using aerial photography, working on railroad project, correct features such as schools and hospitals and updating annexations. These positions will enable the client to meet internal deadlines on these projects.

This GIS Analyst will utilize Geographic Information System techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Extracts data from GIS software and uses varying analysis methods to arrive at results. Recommends appropriate reactionary strategies in response to GIS analysis. Provides maps and data sets to clients to supplement analysis. Knowledgeable of GIS software and technology. Works in conjunction with CADD drafters and technicians.

GIS Analyst Mandatory Skills

Requires a bachelors degree in area of specialty

1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
