Deskside Support (Myrtle Beach, SC) MASTER
Person Tech Skills:
Deskside Support position. At the subcon 3 level I am looking for a top level support person. They should be excellent in all of the following:
Responsibility will be INTEL Software Diagnosis and Break / fix work work independently with no other local help. They will be part of a remote US team. Must support local customers on site as well as support other customer locations remotely via phone and Remote Takeover.
Strong skills with MS Operating systems XP, & Win7. Very familiar with MS Active Directory function. Any Apple skills a plus but not necessity.
Hardware Knowledge is important - installing extra items like drives /memory etc. Able to diagnosis HW break/fix issues ..complete some minor HW fixes as official support group will do more advantaged fixes. But they should be very comfortable inside PCs.
The PC hw of choice on this acct is Lenovo....both Desktops and Thinkpads. They should be familiar with both types of technology.
Looking for skills in the following:
Fluent with configuring the wireless setup on TPs
Some familiarity with PDAs and how they function / configuration
Well versed with and can use/configure Lotus Notes (this is the mail tool on the acct...so this is critical..profiles, local mail, archiving, etc)
VPN Tools - specifically AT&T
Very familiar with MS Office Suite 2003, 2007 & 2010
General network knowledge for PC trouble shooting ability.
Has background in imaging PCs (we have an imaging process but need them to be able to follow this process with no problem). Also have ability to clone drives (Ghost SW)
Skilled in data migration from one PC to another as well as PC setup. Knowledge required on file types for different applications.
Support continuous PC Refresh work throughout the year.
Willingness to energetically jump on projects and extra work as it comes up.
We use a ticket system for our workload. I expect this person to be very professional in proper/timely ticket processing, updating and closure.
We use a time tracking tool as well. Needs to be efficient with tool and timely with use.
Person Soft Skills:
MUST HAVE excellent customer skills. Professional attitude. Can do attitude. Communication: Orally and written. Calendar Integrity both with the IBM team as well as customer appointments.
Works well in solo environment. Must also have no problem with chain of command and responding to requests.
Must be able to work with executives as well as regular customers.
Must have no problem with admin work as part of support position. Labor time submission.etc.
