Representative Duties

Provides input into the design for new or modified systems, processes or technologies. May serve as technical lead, planning and organizing portions of a project.

Uses latest tools to perform value-added modeling and engineering analyses under some supervision or review of results. Formulates insights/conclusions and provides recommendations to others for further action.

Participates in monitoring and evaluating the performance of existing systems, processes and technologies and recommends modifications and enhancements to improve quality and/or efficiency.

Troubleshoots problems on existing systems, processes and technologies, including those escalated by more junior engineers. May be on-call to provide support. Can resolve most issues independently.

May assign tasks to and coordinate the activities of contractors, technicians, co-op students, and/or support staff.

Leads projects in their area of expertise, with limited supervision. Establishes plans, secures resources, directs the team, provides regular and ad hoc reports, and ensures that the project delivers the expected results.

Expertise

Possesses working knowledge in area or discipline of engineering and within that area can independently determine and resolve most problems.

Takes responsibility for maintaining their technical skills and staying up to date on changing regulations and new technologies relevant to their work.

Project Role

Participates on a project team, or leads components of projects or leads smaller projects under supervision. May direct team members in the context of a project.

Uses state of the art tools for data retrieval and analysis to support design efforts.

Analyzes results of physical or virtual tests to provide insight into requirements and design.

Analyzes data to provide input into the feasibility of a work assignment.

Represents the company in contacts with external parties such as suppliers, consultants, vendors, academia, etc. to coordinate work efforts.

Decision Making
/Autonomy

Works under guidance of the Engineering Leader at the location.
Work is reviewed periodically at various stages throughout a project/assignment

If leading projects, this role makes key decisions about the project workplan to be reviewed and approved by management. Has the autonomy to implements the workplan and ensure the project meets budget and customer requirements
Experience and Education

Requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering desired discipline or a related 4 year technical degree and 2+ years of experience. May consider a Masters Degree with 1+ years of experience.
