Highland Industries has an immediate need for Co-Op Students to work in our Cheraw, South Carolina Manufacturing Facility for theSummer Semester 2014. It is a true Co-Op position and weprefer that you make at least two rotations. (School / Work) PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To assist in the day to day operations within the Takata Companies technical and support departments. Students will support Company teams by participating in various phases or aspects of current projects.

Position Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

May work at various customer facilities with Resident Engineering or Technical Staff;
Participates in various phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, and preparation of specifications, technical plans and product testing;
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications;
Directs integration of technical activities and products;
Evaluates design changes, specifications, and drawing releases;
Prepares interim and completion project reports;
Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing;
Professional etiquette (dress, phone conversations, emails, etc.) Proficient in Microsoft Office;
Detail oriented; Demonstrate the ability to follow basic instructions and complete tasks as required;
Self-motivated with ability to multitask;
Demonstrate the ability to work in a team setting;

To meet the requirements for the Co-Op Student position, the applicant shall be currently enrolled and attending an accredited college or university and are required to maintain a 3.0 or greater cumulative grade point average.

Other conditions pertaining to the students duties and tasks are:

Working in a regular full-time academic program toward either an undergraduate or graduate degree.
Students must act as Professionals (dress, phone conversations, emails, arrival to work on time, etc.) while representing the Company
Students who enter into the Co-Op or Internship Program must provide a valid drivers license along with any and all requested college transcript and enrollment information.
Students must also pass a drug screen test and submit to a background check
Would like for you to make several rotations in the program if possible

Preferrence will be given to Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial,and Chemical Engineering Students; as well as Textile and Business Majors.
