Eaton Corporation in Greenwood, South Carolina seeks a Supervisor, SCM Materials Planning. The Supervisor, SCM Materials Planning directs and controls the flow of materials into the plant, maintaining the balance between lowering inventory turns and avoiding production interruptions; supervises, trains, and educates direct reports including one (1) Senior Buyer, SCM Procurement and one (1) Clerk/Technician SCM Supplier Quality on use of sound SCM techniques, business systems, and other related tools to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements; manages the Kanban System; analyzes and ensures that the proper procurement methods are being used to maximize material availability while minimizing inventory and supply chain costs; devises methods and policies to ensure the most economical movement of materials in and out of plant to achieve cost-effective logistics practices; uses lean and Kanban; directs materials coordination staff to ensure objectives are achieved; determines materials requirements needed to meet production schedules, inventory levels and shipment demands to achieve on-time production and inventory management requirements; identifies low performing suppliers and works with suppliers to improve performance or move business to high performing strategic suppliers; coordinates with other departments to ensure smooth flow of materials; monitors business trends and economic cycles in order to anticipate change in order flow from customers and material availability from suppliers; analyzes and evaluates inventory and delivery problems and recommends or implements solutions to optimize inventory levels and manufacturing schedule; and evaluates work performance of group as required in order to facilitate performance.
Job Requirements
Requirements: Must have: Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Engineering, and 5 years of experience as a Lead Buyer or similar. 5 years of experience must be in: supply chain management (SCM) in a manufacturing environment, including Kanban, computerized inventory systems, scheduling techniques and order to delivery time (ODT), negotiating contracts with clients, and purchasing/procurement. Alternatively, employer will consider individuals with a Masters Degree in Business Administration or Engineering and three years experience as a Lead Buyer or similar. Three years experience must be in: Supply Chain Management (SCM) in a manufacturing environment, including Kanban, computerized inventory systems, scheduling techniques and ODT (Order to Delivery Time), negotiating contracts with clients, and purchasing/procurement.
