Human Services Coordinator III - Counselor/Therapist III at Columbia

Job Description

Provides broad range of counseling and psychological services to students, including intake evaluation and assessment, treatment planning, and treatment provision within the modalities of individual, couples, and group psychotherapy. Provides crisis intervention and management. Provides psychological consultation to families, faculty and staff, and other Student Health Service staff. Provides a range of suicide prevention services under the direction of the staff member tasked with primary responsibility for coordinating suicide prevention services. Involved in the development, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and maintenance of suicide prevention services program. Provides administrative guidance, consultation, direction and training to CHDC staff as regards to the assigned service component(s). Provides training and clinical supervision to CHDC trainees and early career professional staff as assigned. Provide Community Based Services as assigned. Other duties as assigned by the director. The psychologist will practice in accordance with the ethics promulgated by the American Psychological Association, state law and licensing regulations, and departmental guidelines and policies.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in a related field and 4 years related experience.

Must obtain and maintain credentialing and privileging according to Student Health Services By-laws as a condition of employment.

Clinical Degree- Psychologist -Earned doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program, including completion of an accredited APA internship program, prior to start date.

Social Workers -Earned MSW from a fully accredited, clinically focused program in Social Work, with 2 years of clinical internship completed by start date.

Counselors - Earned Masters Degree in Counseling or in Marriage & Family Therapy from a CACREP accredited program, including 750 clinical hours completed by start date.

Must be licensed (or eligible and/or can obtain within 6 months of employment) in SC to practice at the independent level.

Preferred Requirements:

Clinical experience for Psychologists -2 years experience as a licensed psychologist, which includes a minimum of 1 year in a college/university counseling center completed either during pre-doctoral internship or later within the past 3 years, is highly preferred.

For Social Workers, minimum 3 years experience licensed as a LISW-CP, which includes a minimum of 1 year in a college/university counseling center within the past 3 years- highly preferred.

For Counselors, Minimum 5 years experience licensed as a LPC or LMFT, which includes a minimum of 1 year in a college/university counseling center within the past 3 years-highly preferred.
